According to investigators, Marly was spending the day on a pontoon boat with a group of friends. Authorities say she reportedly left the boat to use the bathroom along the shoreline, but the group departed without realizing she had been left behind. The situation has drawn widespread attention after investigators stated those on the boat were unable to identify the exact location where Marly was last seen. Search efforts have involved boats, sonar equipment, divers, drones, helicopters, K-9 units, and volunteers. One member of the group was arrested on a boating under the influence charge, although officials have not linked that arrest directly to Marly’s disappearance.
A new development comes from a woman who says she and her family were boating on Grayson Lake that afternoon. She stated they have time-stamped videos showing Marly and several companions at a popular rock cliff area around 2:20 p.m. on June 24. According to the witness, the group remained there for another 10 to 20 minutes before leaving. She also said her family returned to the boat docks between 4:30 and 4:45 p.m., where they observed Marly’s group already speaking with first responders. The witness says this information and the videos have been shared with both investigators and Marly’s family.
